Hello Everyone!
First of all, it is an honour to have been able to play in front of all of you last Saturday. What a great turn-out! For the record, we still don’t have any confirmed dates for Round Two of Landmark Event’s Battle of the Bands, however we did get the following information in regards to the line-up; looks as though the 5 finalists from Saturday will be up against the 5 finalists from Sunday:
Saturday Night (August 21st):
1st Place: THE ROUGH BOYS
2nd Place: CALVADOS
3rd Place: EMERSON STREET RHYTHM BAND
4th Place: DANGERBAND
5th Place: COLD COAST
Sunday Night (August 22nd):
1st Place: THE BOX TIGER
2nd Place (tie): THE AFTER CHAPTER
2nd Place (tie): SUBLIMINAL HATE MACHINE
4th Place: INLET SOUND
5th Place: REALITY CONTROL
Second update: I was told the title track “High Octane” just replays “Showin’ Teeth”. That has been fixed, so you can go check that out now.
Third Update: Just because we won the first round in a Battle of the Bands does not mean we’re taking it easy. We still have Round Two to worry about, and we’re going to keep gigging until that happens. We gotten confirmation for a show on September 16th at Hard Luck Bar, as well as a show on October 29th at The Poor Alex Theatre (a special Halloween concert). We’ll keep you continuously posted on the gigs page and here for any new information.
Fourth Update: Get ready for this one… The Rough Boys are booked into another Battle of the Bands! That’s right, we’re gearing up for two different battles. As of now, I’ve confirmed that the show will be at Hard Rock Cafe, Yonge and Dundas square, on Friday, October 1st. As of next week, you’ll be able to pick up advance tickets from us for $10. I’ll post more information in regards to this gig after speaking more with the organizers.
Remember, we’re only in this to rock your socks off; so pick up your BALLS and come support your favorite Toronto Rock Band: The Fightin’ Fuckin’ Rough Boys!
